# Account Access

Welcome to the modern way to access SweldoNow. In addition to traditional passwords, you can now use Device Login (Passkeys) — a faster and more secure method that uses your device’s built-in authentication such as Face ID, fingerprint, or device PIN.

When you use Device Login, SweldoNow does not store your passkey. Instead, your device creates a secure credential that stays on your device or is synced through your trusted provider (such as Apple iCloud or Google). SweldoNow only verifies that credential during login, ensuring your account remains secure without exposing sensitive information.

# Unlike traditional passwords, passkeys:

  • Cannot be guessed, reused, or exposed in data breaches
  • Are securely stored on your device or your trusted cloud account (e.g., iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager)
  • Are never stored or visible within the SweldoNow system
  • Work seamlessly across supported platforms and devices

# What is Device Login (Passkey)?

Device Login allows you to securely sign in using:

  • Face recognition (Face ID / Windows Hello)
  • Fingerprint authentication
  • Device PIN (fallback if biometrics are not available)

No password is required.

# Setup Guide per Device

# 📱 iPhone (iOS Safari / Home Screen App)

Important Requirement (Must Enable First):
Before registering your device, make sure iCloud Keychain is enabled:

# Steps:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Passwords
  3. Tap Password Options
  4. Under Use Passwords and Passkeys From:
    ✅ Enable iCloud Passwords & Keychain
  5. Without this setting enabled, Device Login will not work on iPhone.

# Register Your Device

  1. Open SweldoNow from Home Screen app
  2. Login using your username/email (first-time setup only)
  3. Tap Enable on this Device
  4. When prompted: Use Face ID or Touch ID
  5. Your device will securely save the passkey

# Login Using Device

  1. Open SweldoNow from Home Screen app
  2. Tap Sign in with Device
  3. Authenticate using: Face ID / Touch ID
  4. You will be logged in instantly

# 🤖 Android Devices (Chrome)

# Requirements

  • Screen lock enabled (PIN, Pattern, or Biometrics)

# Register Your Device

  1. Open SweldoNow from Home Screen app
  2. Login using your username/email (first-time setup only)
  3. Tap Enable on this Device
  4. Confirm using: Fingerprint / Face Unlock / Device PIN

# Login Using Device

  1. Open SweldoNow from Home Screen app
  2. Tap Sign in with Device
  3. Confirm using your device authentication
  4. You will be logged in instantly

# 💻 Windows (Chrome / Edge)

Supports:

  • Windows Hello (Face Recognition / Fingerprint)
  • Device PIN (fallback)

# Register Your Device

  1. Open SweldoNow in your browser (Chrome or Edge), or launch it from your installed apps if it has been added to your computer.
  2. Login using your username/email (first-time setup only)
  3. Click Enable on this Device
  4. When prompted: Use Windows Hello (Face / Fingerprint / PIN)

# Login Using Device

  1. Open SweldoNow in your browser (Chrome or Edge), or launch it from your installed apps if it has been added to your computer.
  2. Click Sign in with Device
  3. Confirm using your device authentication
  4. You will be logged in instantly

# 🍎 macOS (Safari / Chrome)

Supports:

  • Touch ID (MacBook)
  • iPhone passkey via iCloud (if synced)

# Register Your Device

  1. Open SweldoNow in Safari or Chrome
  2. Login using your username/email (first-time setup only)
  3. Click Enable on this Device
  4. Authenticate using: Touch ID or device password

# Login Using Device

  1. Open SweldoNow in Safari or Chrome
  2. Click Sign in with Device
  3. Authenticate via Touch ID or synced device
  4. You will be logged in instantly

# 🐧 Linux (Chrome-based browsers)

Supports:

  • External security keys (if available)
  • Device PIN (browser-dependent)

# Register Your Device

  1. Open SweldoNow in Chrome
  2. Login (first-time setup)
  3. Click Enable on this Device
  4. Follow browser prompt for authentication

# Login Using Device

  1. Open SweldoNow in Chrome
  2. Click Sign in with Device
  3. Confirm using your device authentication
  4. You will be logged in instantly

# Notes & Best Practices

  • Each device must be registered separately
  • You can register multiple devices (phone, laptop, etc.)
  • If you change or reset your device, you may need to register again
  • Always keep your device secured with PIN or biometrics

# Troubleshooting

# iPhone: Device Login not working

  • Ensure iCloud Passwords & Keychain is enabled
  • Use Safari or Home Screen app (recommended)
  • Make sure you are not in Private Browsing mode

# Android / Windows: No biometric prompt

  • Ensure screen lock or Windows Hello is configured
  • Try updating your browser

# General Issues

  • Clear browser cache and retry
  • Re-register your device if needed
